Apatosaurus

Genus: Apatosaurus
Classification: Saurichian, Sauropods, Diplodocoid
Length: 27m  Weight: 35 tonnes  Diet: herbivorous
period: Late Jurassic

Apatosaurus is one of the most famous dinosaurs. At one time, it was called 'Brontosaurus' which means 'thunder lizard'. Perhaps because it is easy to imagine its heavy, rumbling steps, like thunder. Then it was discovered that the Brontosaurus and The Apatosaurus were really the same animal. Like all Diplodocoids, it was enormous, with a long whip-like tail, a long neck, small head and front legs are shorter than the rear.
